Bug Description

I seem to have hit an old problem.

checking for libusb_init in -lusb-1.0... no
configure: error: cannot find libusb 1.0 support

I followed the directions for installing manually. I had only one minor problem in step 2 c. I had to use yum to install the hplip-gui before I could go on to the next step In step 4 the server was off line so I used a tarball I downloaded a few days ago. In step 5, I used the centos 6 64 bit option to match my os. Configure aborts with the error message shown above. I tried using yum to install the usb developement tools but it said I was already up to date.

Please run command 'yum install libusb1-devel' in terminal to install the libusb1-devel package and retry to configure the hplip package installation.

That worked, thanks. hp-setup can not find the printers on the network
but I know their ip addresses so I put them manually. Are there any
easy fixes that allow hp-setup to find the printers?

That is a very useful program. It reminded me to turn off the
firewall. Solved the problem, thanks.
