Bug Description

In Ubuntu Vivid (15.04) the Cups web interface is rendered poorly because the css style sheet (file /usr/share/cups/doc-root/cups.css) is not interpreted correctly.

Removing the comment from the first line of the cups.css file fixes the issue.

Can you please attach your /usr/share/cups/doc-root/cups.css file? Thanks.

Please also tell what you exactly changed in the file.

OK, here are the two files. I only removed the comment located at the first line.
I tested with Firefox 39 and Epiphany browsers. I don't know if the problem is browser dependant.
Note that I found the proposed solution here: https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-p-7710134.html

First, I cannot imagine that removing a comment line as to be seen in the two attached files, and second, for me nothing looks wrong with the web interface. Can you please attache screenshots of the version which you think is wrong and the version which you think is correct?

Sorry, you are right with removing the comment for the css file to be auto-typed as css file, as told in the Gentoo thread, but for me nothing changes when removing the comment (CUPS is 2.0.3). So can you attach your screen shots? Thanks.

@Roland65 : Do you have /etc/cups/mime.types ? What happens if you delete it and restart cups?

Indeed, I have an /etc/cups/mime.types file , and removing this file also fixes the web interface problem. Perhaps this mime.types file comes from an old cups version?

Try removing the file /etc/cups/mime.types if you have one, then try the web interface again with the original /usr/share/cups/doc-root/cups.css file. Does it work correctly now?

Yes, the web interface works correctly when there is no mime.types file and with the original cups.css.
