helix plugin not working

After succesfully loading the Helix plugin into Firefox (see #147505), the plugin is listed at about:plugins as "Helix DNA Plugin: RealPlayer G2 Plug-In Compatible". However, when visiting a website featuring embedded RealVideo content, the plugin is loaded and a warning message box is shown stating that the plugin "Could not find an appropiate hxplay or realplay in the system path to use as an embedded player", as a result the video can't be played at all. However, if I type hxplay in a terminal window, Helix player runs and I can play the video stream by manually typing the URI.

Is this symptom still reproducible in 8.10 RC or later?
