Bug Description
The only native linux emulator (Mupen) crashes. I've tried dozens of other ones under Wine, but none of them work, either. They said it was a wine bug in IRC, but in the end, that doesn't matter. What matters is that I can't switch all of my friends and family over to Ubuntu, because they won't be able to play Mario Kart 64.
What I've tried:
Mupen (native) Emulator opens, on loading a rom, crashes and disappears.
Under Wine:
1964: Doesn't work.
Project64: Doesn't work.
Mupen ++: Doesn't work.
Mupen for Windows : Doesn't wor.
You may not think Nintendo 64 is all that important to Linux adoption, but over half of the machines that I administer require it.
If Ubuntu is ever going to be a first tier OS that more than a gross minority of people use, this needs to be addressed.
You would have a far better chance of getting stuff fixed if you helped by contributing patches, and doing testing for the various projects. This bug, in itself, is offensive and useless. Ubuntu, and it's programs are done by volunteers for the most part - they are not required to do your bidding, unless they wish to. If you write your bugs such that you think they are, you will be ignored.
Closing, due to offensiveness, and uselessness (and the fact that it's pointless to track meta-bugs like this, this way)
