Man Page Error?

I am trying to properly configure & troubleshoot my Artec e+ 48u scanneron Xubuntu 14.10 (amd64)

There seem to be several erros on the utopic man page at:

The page refers to libsane-common version 1.0.24-1.1ubuntu1_all

Synaptic says my version of libsane-common is 1.0.24-1.1ubuntu1. Note the missing "_all" at the end.

The man page says that after installing the package, I should find:

/usr/local/etc/sane.d/artec_eplus48u.conf
/usr/local/lib/sane/libsane-artec_eplus48u.a
/usr/local/lib/sane/libsane-artec_eplus48u.so

artec_eplus48u.conf is in the stated location.

I find neither libsane-artec_eplus48u.a nor libsane-artec_eplus48u.so at their stated location, nor anywhere else on my system.

Running Catfish as root, I find the following similarly, but not identically, named files in this completely different location:

directory: /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/sane/

files found:
libsane-artec_eplus48u.1a
libsane-artec_eplus48u.so.1
libsane-artec_eplus48u.so.1.0.24

Status changed to 'Confirmed' because the bug affects multiple users.

confirmed for trusty and zesty as well. There's also more cruft in that file. The whole section about Kernel issues can be removed as the ubuntu packages depend on a more recent version of libusb.
