Install from SATA CD drive does not find CD

Bug Description

I tried to install the Hoary 5.04 preview/release candidate on my system with a
SATA CD drive. When the installer reaches the screen where it detects your CD
drive it was unable to find mine and therefore unable to continue the
installation. I was using the SATA inteface off the Intel 875 chipset in my
ASUS P4C800. I grabbed an old ribbon-cable style CD drive out of my closet and
was able to install fine. Once the system was installed I was able to see and
use my SATA CD drive from Gnome. The drive is a Plextor PX-716SA.

This sounds similar to bug #8196.

Which version did you install, the preview or the release candidate (they are
two different versions)? Some cases of bug #8196 were fixed between the preview
and the release candidate.

Please send the output from "lspci"

Downloaded latest install CD and it works. I'm still a bit confused on install
CD versioning. I thought I downloaded when it said release candidate, but maybe
the mirror I picked hadn't updated. My CD definitely said preview. I'll open a
separate bug if I get confused like this again.
