Bug Description

the initramfs-tools package does not include the
hid-logitech-hidpp driver in the initramfs image

since kernel commit:
--------------------------------------
commit ab94e562ed45c99914fe874b7feaf75b80ceea84
Author: Benjamin Tissoires <email address hidden>
Date: Tue Sep 30 13:18:28 2014 -0400

HID: logitech: move dj devices to the HID++ module

Devices connected through the Logitech Wireless Receiver are HID++
devices.
We can handle them here to benefit from this new module and activate
enhaced support of the various wireless touchpad or mice with touch
    sensors on them.

-----------------------------------------

The normal hid driver is not used for some logitech keyboards, which leads to problems unlocking full disk encryption because the driver is not packaged into the initramfs image, after kernel compilation (also missing and thus not functioning in the 4.x images of linux mint)

So the problem is very equivalent to https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=772578 except that it is another driver, and I cannot report the bug there since im using the ubuntu / mint package of initramfs-tools (0.103ubuntu4.2)

Bump,

Im not an authoity to change this, but could someone point me in the right direction,
This was on the linux kernel dev list untill we figured out the error was made in the initramfs-tools

And It would be niuce that I dide not bisect trough 5000+ kernel revisions for nothing.

I understand you cannot go fix bugs like this instantaneous, but I would have figured it would at least be categorised / triaged within a few months instead of blatantly being ignored.
