This was reported against Vivid in July 2015, and Vivid was EOL in Feb 2016 and never fixed in bug 1385868. So I think this is a duplicate of bug 1385868 and is now fixed in Wily, Xenial, Yakkety and Zesty. If this is incorrect, please comment with the release you tested and what package version of samba you have verified does not work.
