Bug Description
Please backport eventstat 0.02.00-1 (universe) from wily to vivid.
Reason for the backport:
=======
eventstat is used in ubuntu-touch for finding wakeup event power
regressions and will be a key QA/CI tool for regular phone
image testing. In order to make it useful to the QA process I have
optimised eventstat to use less CPU and memory resources and also
added a new -w option to timestamp events to help QA correlate
events with other logs gathered during testing.
Key features added and fixed since 0.01.35:
Re-order man page options into alphabetical order
Add -w "whence" timestamp row
Add time column to CSV output
Fix resource leak on file descriptor on error exit path
Add auto-purge of old state timer stats to stop memory growth
Speed up reading and parsing of the timer stat data
Add some performance optimisations, better hashing and heap management
Make hash ident a few bytes smaller for marginal compare speedup
Replace hash function with one that is 3.3x faster
Fix hash chain growth by comparing with ident rather than an NULL field
Free cmdline on mask check continue path
Remove SIGSEGV from trapped signals list
Fix memory leak on cmdline, found by CoverityScan
Improve kernel thread detection and hash on unmodified task name (LP: #1467932)
Remove overzealous signal handlers for SIGBUS, SIGABRT, SIGILL
eventstat is a standalone binary and has no other dependancies. Built and tested
using backportpackage -u ppa:colin-
Testing:
========
Mark off items in the checklist [X] as you test them, but please leave the checklist so that backporters can quickly evaluate the state of testing.
You can test-build the backport in your PPA with backportpackage:
$ backportpackage -u ppa:<lp username>/<ppa name> -s wily -d vivid eventstat
* vivid:
