Vandelay Match-Only with blank match set Cause Duplicate records in Acquisitions

Issue: It is easy to create duplicate records using the Vandelay loader for Acquisitions with the following conditions:

1. Import Non-Matching – selected
2. Match-Only Merge – selected
3. Match Set Field – blank

The load will load all the incoming records as Match Set Field is blank and the system does not match on anything. This creates duplicate records.

Solution: Add validation / error or user warning before loading match-only records with a blank match set.

The workaround is to set up the library’s profiles for a match set. The settings are sticky so when they return to that screen they should have the proper parameters in place which would prevent the duplicates from happening.
