Bug Description
OS: Ubuntu 7.10 "Gutsy Gibbon" Beta
GPU: ATI Radeon X1950PRO 512MB
I upgraded from stable Feisty to Gutsy Beta and previously used fglrx from restricted-manager.
When I select kernel version 2.6.22 in the GRUB menu, I am put into VESA mode and taken to a buggy display preferences dialog where no matter what buttons I press or drivers I select the screen flickers black and grey and returns to the dialog with no options changed. There is no way to access GNOME or any other graphical system, and turning off the system can only be done through manual power disconnect.
When I select kernel version 2.6.20 from GRUB, the system loads correctly and uses the restricted fglrx driver as I expect.

Fixed in the final version anyway, apparently.
