Bug Description

Using the app with the England map, it showed district boundaries in the search but not streets. There is a separate file for British Addresses Nationwide but that does not appear in the download list. I copied that database from my Android phone and installed it alongside the England map download [added to Documents, the copy pasted using File Manager into the destination folder]. Now when I search the app finds street names.

Including the addresses database in the list of maps would be a helpful feature.

Strange. A street search worked once but not now. Some streets are listed [but it seems not many]. Entries are normally villages. Search for e.g. 'culv' finds that string anywhere in a phrase [so: Reculver]. 'West' finds many branches of Natwest bank ! Also "Canoe club in ... Avenue West".

Although now searching for 'west' does not list anything at all ...

Tried 'harbour' and got many Coldharbour. Tried once more and same. Tried again and nothing found.

What do you mean by "Including the addresses database in the list of maps"? I have no idea how you would practically do that. Could you give an example?
You talk about a separate file. Please point me to it, I have no idea what you are talking about.

This may be an oddity of the UK maps database. I am not sure.

Going by the experience on Osmand, the menu of maps appearing in the download list is mostly individual counties (something like a 2 million population) or regions (about five counties).

Also in the list is a separate UK addresses database.

I am guessing that the addresses database is populated with things like postcodes and street names.

The maps which you link to return features like ‘parish boundary’ - a geographical term for the line enclosing a centre of population of perhaps 10,000. It finds that rather than the village which is inside the boundary. Often, the name of the boundary is very similar to the name of the village but not always. So the search seems to be for features on a map rather than places by name.

I am just a random user, not any kind of expert.

What I normally experience with a satnav is that it asks for the town and then offers a list of streets in that town. Your app seems to find the edge of the town but not the detail.

Thank you and keep up the great work.
