Bug Description

My 2015 13" MacBook Pro will not stay suspended most of the time. If I select Suspend from the menu, most of the the time, my laptop will suspend for 2-3 seconds, but it immediately resumes again. Sometimes it will suspend fully, but it will not resume again, no matter what I do. Pressing any of the keys or power button has no effect. The only thing I can do is hold down the power button to force a reboot of my system.

Did this issue start happening after an update/upgrade? Was there a prior kernel version where you were not having this particular problem?

Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest v4.1 kernel[0].

If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following tag 'kernel-fixed-upstream'.

If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the tag: 'kernel-bug-exists-upstream'.

Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug as "Confirmed".

Thanks in advance.

There was no prior kernel version where this was working. This started happening after the initial installation on this system.

I will try out the latest upstream kernel when I have time.

Daniel Burton, the next step is to fully reverse commit bisect from kernel 3.19 to 4.1 in order to identify the last bad commit, followed immediately by the first good one. Once this commit has been identified, then it may be reviewed as a candidate for backporting into your release. Could you please do this following https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Kernel/KernelBisection#How_do_I_reverse_bisect_the_upstream_kernel.3F ?

Please note, finding adjacent kernel versions is not fully commit bisecting.

Thank you for your understanding.

It's going to take a while before I have the time to do the reverse commit bisect process. I'll tell you what I find when I can get to it.
