Bug Description
The recent fix for widescreen displays in displayconfig-gtk works, however, still upon selecting any sort of generic or plug and play monitor preset, I get an inaccurate mode in GDM. When I log into GNOME, however, it seems to shift to the proper mode. I am guessing this is because GNOME uses xrandr (without specifying a refresh rate) to select the appropriate resolution.
The "modes" line in my display section of my xorg.conf makes reference to the specific modeline, "1680x1050@60," which apparently does not work correctly with my monitor. However, xrandr does seem to properly detect this resolution's available refresh rates, and will switch to it if requested. A quick fix for this bug would be to, in addition to having the specific modeline names listed in the Display section, have generic resolution declarations to allow the X server to autonegotiate the default mode if possible.
