'amixer' can mute the speaker but it cannot unmute it.

Bug Description
My system:
lubuntu 15.04 64bit
hp laptop model# 15-r174ca
Issue: I can use amixer to mute the audio. Once done, I cannot use amixer to unmute. amixer console output seems ok when commanded to mute and unmute but the audio remain muted. I needed to go to the desktop at the audio applet to unmute the speaker.
$ amixer -c 1 sset Master toggle

This command also fails to unmute the audio.

Is this still a problem with the latest Lubuntu Next image?
For now, I will mark this as Incomplete as there is not enough information to reproduce this bug.
