Bug Description
Binary package hint: ubiquity
When in the keyboard layout selection, I like to type the name of the layout to select it.
It's much better than browsing down all the way.
However, if I type the name fast enough, I don't get the correct selection.
For example, as I use a French keyboard, I type "fr" to go to the "France" item.
If I type it calmly (f, then r) it works.
But if I type "fr" fast, I get "France" selected on the left panel and "Faroe Islands" options available on the right panel (which is what you get expectedly when you only type "f").

Thanks for the bug submission. Triaged to Confirmed. I've noticed this behavior as well. It's annoying. I'm not sure if the key search delay can be changed or if one delay will work for most hardware. Perhaps a dialog could be added: Please select your keyboard from the list below, or slowly type in the first few letters: For example Fr for French keyboard."
