snort package can't install

Binary package hint: snort
tried to install snort in gutsy, and the message is this

It seems there is already a snort user visible to the nss plugins (getent passwd | grep snort) but it isn't a local user, so the snort package cannot modify its settings. Can you double check your nss passwd file?
