Bug Description

I run a standard Ubuntu 14.04 installation.

I just ran http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/hplip/hplip-3.14.10.run. I realize (now) it isnt the current version, but i was referred from
https://askubuntu.com/questions/112684/why-does-ubuntu-add-a-5-margin-to-the-top-when-printing-to-my-hp-psc-750/547320#547320 while trying to fix an another issue.

Also, i assume the bug is still present, as i couldnt find any reported bugs or fixes with "(delete|wipe) and home" in them.

Heres the output from the installation.

=============CUT===============

The installer exits here and my entire home dir has been wiped and the directory is gone. ls /home/ does no longer show my homedir.

Installer ends up saying that 'make' isnt there, but it is. Don't know if this is an after effect of my home dir being gone.. The getcwd() are likely and effect of this, me still standing in a subdir of my home dir, which is gone.
