Bug Description
Bug detailed description:
-------
Just for grins, I tried installing the Linux version of Google Earth on
my MID. I wasn't expecting it to work fully but I was curious as to
what would happen.
I downloaded the Linux version from the Google web site just fine (http://
to the directions on the web site (see http://
When the installation finished, I clicked the "Start" button and it started to run (it brought up the splash screen), but then it caused the X server to restart.
I tested this on the pre-built image posted at Intel - I have not yet had a chance to try to reproduce on the latest version.
I wasn't sure what category to use for the bug but I thought it was most likely somehow related to the UI framework.
Reproduce steps:
----------------
1.) Download Linux version of Google Earth from MID browser at:
http://
2.) Install per directions at:
http://
3.) At the end of the installation process, click the "Start" button.
At that point, Google Earth will launch but the X server will restart.
Current result:
----------------
Google Earth will launch but the X server will restart.
Expected result:
----------------
Google Earth will launch and bring up the application GUI. The GUI might not look right if the application does not how to deal with the MID screen size.

I think there is a good chance that hildon-desktop is the component that is crashing. Somebody can verify that by attempting to run google earth from a Xephyr window instead of on real hardware.
After the crash there will be useful information in ~/.xsession- warnings
