can't navigate 'up' in column view

if files is opened in one directory (say, Documents), I can't navigate 'up' to the directory that Documents is contained in (i.e., Home). a potential upside which isn't exploited. I would expect that simply hitting the left arrow would navigate to the parent directory.

You can navigate "Up" by pressing Alt-UpArrow.

It is an interesting idea to be able to navigate to the parent folder by pressing the Left Arrow when in the leftmost column, though.
