I would suggest the following:

"Wenn nicht gesetzt, dann hat jede Zeile die Höhe des größten Objektes"
"Wenn nicht gesetzt, dann hat jede Spalte die Breite des größten Objektes"

Although I don't know where to find the arrange dalog and what to set. ;-)
I thought it was the box which opens pressing Strg+Shift+A but I was wrong :-(

Perhaps you can give me a hint.
So I can have a look at the context.

The string "Umwandeln in Blindenschrift" is used twice for two different extensions (affects 0.91 as well as trunk):

1) for 'Convert to Dashes' (incorrect translation):

entschuldige bitte die extrem verspätete Antwort - ich hatte keine Benachrichtigungen für diesen Bug gesetzt, und nicht mitbekommen, dass mir jemand eine Frage gestellt hat... :(

Für mich klingt das okay. Zu finden beim Hovern über Objekt -> Anordnen (ganz unten) -> Checkboxen für 'Gleiche Höhe' und 'Gleiche Breite'.

Another update is needed here:
man page now exists for German, so "https://inkscape.org/doc/inkscape-man.de.html" needs to replace "https://inkscape.org/doc/inkscape-man.html"

(and hopefully later the same for the keys reference will be needed)

I wouldn't mind putting in these (tiny...) changes, but I've got no clue how to best submit them, and if to make them for trunk, or for the 0.91.x branch, or both.

Just append the file(s)? One for each of the two active branches?

Another one: The tab for 'Fill' in the Fill&Stroke dialog should be 'Füllung' not 'Füllen'. This could be called a regression ;)

I went forward and fixed all the issues reported here. Will be fixed with bug #1443126 comment #9.

@marenhachmann: Actually we have to keep both (0.91 branch and trunk) up-to-date.

If you want to contribute to German UI translation you're welcome to join our (Sönke an me) little German translation project:
I set up a code repository on GitHub (https://github.com/Ede123/inkscape-localization) with all the relevant translation files. I can grant you write access so you'll always be able to directly modify the latest version of the translations and we'll be able to easily keep track of all the changes.
This way it's much easier to coordinate our work and we can then periodically submit our work via launchpad to get the latest changes into the official code repository.

@Eduard: Thanks :) - but I think currently, I'll stick to website translations and submitting reports.
I know where to check if things have been corrected already, now ;)

Or is there a lot left to do? The changes made from 0.48 to 0.91 broke a few translations that were okay before... Some sound outright weird, especially in the Filters section (Beflecken?!? controls = Kontrolle?...) - but I'm not sure how much change we can impose on users, they might not find it again, even if the translation is improved. Do we have any rules for that?

But I would be cool if any of you two (when you have time) would like to review the key-and-mouse-reference translation, the man page translation and my proposed changes to the basic tutorial translation (I need to review them myself, too):

@Maren: Sorry, I have absolutely no experience with translation of Inkscape docs ( I would not even know where to find the documents you mention).

I'd love to help but my spare time is limited and I did not even find the time yet to complete translation of *missing* UI strings (let alone weird and wrong translations as you describe above). Therefore I'm afraid I won't be able to actively support you with translating documentation. I might be able to do occasional reviews, though (if you tell me exactly what I need to review and where I find it ;) )

Anyway: If you think it would be useful to add any of those documents to my private repository I can certainly arrange that (again you'd need to tell me which documents you need).

It's okay, sounds like there's still a lot to to. Thank you for the offer!

I'm right now learning how to make a chroot environment for trunk, so I would theoretically be able to see the strings 'in action' and help. (why don't we have something like the scribus people do - a separate package for trunk in the ppa, with *separate directory structure*...?... would make things a lot easier...)

Attaching a small translation update for the 'Printing Marks' extension which was rotting since 2012 in a local branch. The diff has been updated and applies to current trunk (r14386).

Please review and feel free to use if considered an improvement.
