Bug Description
Binary package hint: hotkey-setup
I am vary if the Thinkpad volume buttons should control the software mixer aswell. If I use them to get the volume down at half the OSD bar the sound is mute already because both hardware and software volume are both controlled concurrently. This means that I am unable to adjust the volume in small steps via the hotkeys.
I now disconnected the hotkeys via gnome-keybindin
I think this experience might match a ThinkPad user's expectations more (although I don't know if I can speak for the majority on this). I know exactly that I have a hardware mixer which is disconnected from the software mixer, but OTOH I don't know if the Windows mixer is tied to it, but I doubt it. I don't mind that I don't get a OSD, but well other mileages may vary of course.
(I own a Lenovo ThinkPad Z61m.)
