Steven Basart, thank you for reporting this and helping make Ubuntu better. As per http://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/19/product-support/product/xps-13-9333/drivers an update to your computer's buggy and outdated BIOS is available (A07). If you update to this following https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BIOSUpdate does it change anything?

If it doesn't, could you please both specify what happened, and provide the output of the following terminal command:
sudo dmidecode -s bios-version && sudo dmidecode -s bios-release-date

For more on BIOS updates and linux, please see https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs#Bug_reporting_etiquette .

Please note your current BIOS is already in the Bug Description, so posting this on the old BIOS would not be helpful. As well, you don't have to create a new bug report.

Once the BIOS is updated, and the information above is provided, then please mark this report Status New.

Thank you for your understanding.

hi

so, I have the same problem:
I have installed ubuntu 14.04.3 LTS on my lenovo yoga 2 pro 3 day ago (so, I am really new to linux features)....and all work great, except this one.

just for fun i tried to run this project on GNOME 3(on ubuntu GNOME and fedora), but it still crashes xorg

what is interesting to me, is that it is possible to move horizontally, it inly crashes when you move up or down

so, maybe someone has solve this problem?

ps. i am attaching all python sources, you can run there "python pacman.py"

hi.

I've found a place, that cause segfault in http://ai.berkeley.edu/search.html
File "multiagent/graphicsUtils.py", row #211: "edit(id, ('start', e[0]), ('extent', e[1] - e[0]))"
You can comment it, or remove "('start', e[0]),"

I can verify that this bug happens to me as well. I've tried it on various Ubuntu machines (all 14.04). Even when SSH'ing into another machine with X forwarding, it crashes the computer with the display.

Nic McDonald, it will help immensely if you filed a new report via a terminal:

ubuntu-bug xorg

Please ensure you have the package xdiagnose installed, and that you click the Yes button for attaching additional debugging information.

I have the same problem and I have the crash file in /var/crash, should I upload it?

Riccardo, one should never manually upload a crash file. Instead, file it as a new report via a terminal:
ubuntu-bug FILENAME.crash

Thanks for the tip, I'm completely new at this. Funnily enough though, my system crashes when I try to execute that command as a super user.
