Bug Description
Sometimes, when attempting to shutdown my laptop (Dell Inspiron 1150), the screen goes to a pattern of vertical lines (sometimes with an inverted, faded section of the desktop at the top), blinks periodically, and won't shutdown. This behavior seems to occur after a combination of two activities:
1) using Google Maps
2) playing video using the root account (with 'xhost +' to allow this)
Yes, I know I should figure out the problem and just play video with my user account, but that doesn't change the fact that there is apparently some sort of video memory conflict going on in Xorg and it may be preventing me from shutting down my computer.
Once again, if I should file this bug elsewhere, please let me know. Sorry I don't have more detailed info for you.
