Bug Description

After some trial and error regarding some issues with adding podcasts (some were never showing any available episodes when added) I decided to try to narrow down the issue with two podcasts: The Patch from Rooster Teeth and Dude Soup from Funhaus.

To start, on the desktop, I cleared the cache at ~/local/share/com.mikeasoft.podbird.

From there I added The Patch (Currently 101 episodes) and then added Dude Soup (Currently 12 episodes). The Patch shows all 101, Dude Soup shows none.

Clear cache. Add Dude Soup, shows 12. Add The Patch, shows 89. Looking at the episode list for The Patch, the list begins at episode 13.

importance: Undecided → Critical

As we did a lot of code change in v0.6, I presumed this might be a regression. But on initial investigation, it turns out this bug was present even in 0.5. Still looking into what the cause might be.

I have added some podcast feeds and no episodes have ever shown up for them. For some feeds, some episodes will download while trying to download others fails.

To start with, Podbird downloaded entire podcasts, with episodes going back years, but it wouldn't fetch any new episodes.

After un/re-subscribing and manually deleting hundreds of episodes things started working as expected, for a while, but since a week ago it's not finding new episodes, or only for one or two podcasts in a list of nine. Un/re-subscribing hasn't helped. Very frustrating.

Affected podcasts include "PBS Newshour" and "The Economist", both of which should have new episodes.
On the other hand "Business Daily" did just download a new episode, the only find for today.

I'm using Meizu MX4.

Dream Talk Radio (I used the search and subscribe process) shows no episodes in Podbird but many in other podcast apps.
