Bug Description

the network manager needs support for wpa2-peap, ie once the ssid eduroam is selected, an email and password dialog has to appear.

workaround: edit the /etc/NetworkManager/system-connections/eduroam as given in http://askubuntu.com/questions/606298/eduroam-on-aquaris-e4-5-ubuntu-edition

Changed in indicator-network (Ubuntu):
status: New → Confirmed

The wifi of my university also is protected via wpa2-peap-MSCHAPv2 and I can't connect to it, there should be a way to insert and store the credential to allow autoconnect.
Currently when tapping on the ssid it highlights and does nothing else.
The workaround proposed above seems to work, but is cumbersome.

This is a highly needed feature for me because my ISP provides it's hotspots all over the country via wpa2-peap-MSCHAPv2.

Network Manager can connect to WPA2 PEAP networks just fine, as shown in bug 1104476.

indicator-network is not responsible for authenticating to networks at all.

But since you link to a page about the Aquaris E4.5, I guess you're talking about Ubuntu Touch, which currently does not have UI for authenticating to WPA Enterprise in general. This is bug 1241986.
