Bug Description

In xterm the file menu contained a menu item:
Open Terminal in Tab and
Open Terminal in new Window

There is a new Terminal menu which offers the same Preferences item as the the Edit menu but the option to open a terminal in a new tab disappeared from the menus (a tab can be opened with ctrl-shift-T though).

Is this an error or a feature (as the Terminal menu does not make any sense at all).

Under Preferences, you can specify whether the "New Terminal" menu entry opens it in a window or a tab.

Separate shortcuts (Shift+Ctrl+N and Shift+Ctrl+T by default) are still available.

This was a change done in mainstream gnome-terminal; I have no idea what was the intent behind it. I have no opinion either whether it's better or worse than the old one was. I recommend you to accept it this way and get used to it :)

summary: - xterm menu items disappeared
+ gnome-terminal menu items disappeared

Thank you for this information. I have found that myself.

Have no Gnome desktop so didn't know if this was an error or a "feature".
Having played a bit with 15.04 I found several changes in the way applications work. Most of them are not beneficial.

I can live with this but I have users that might nag me about such a change.

But thanks for the answer.
