nginx fails to detect end of a seemingly valid fastcgi session

Bug Description

My cursory inspection of the .pcap seems to suggest that this is valid fastcgi, but nginx hangs for fastcgi_read_timeout seconds (despite the response having been sent within milliseconds) and then logs "upstream timed out (110: Connection timed out) while reading upstream", meanwhile the client gets an error. Is this actually an nginx bug or is there something subtle about the protocol that I've missed?
