Does sleep refer to suspend or hibernate?

In the dropdowns you have options for "Suspend", "Shutdown", and "Hibernate".

Then in the label below, you have the option to make the computer "Sleep" after a period of inactivity.

What does sleep mean? I was told it means the same as suspend, in which case the words shouldn't be used interchangeably, for clarity.

Also, why are there separate sleep and suspend buttons that can be configured for? Do some keyboards make this distinction? And why isn't the default action for "Sleep button" suspend, if suspend and sleep are the same?

Just to clarify, these are rhetorical questions used to demonstrate why the labels are confusing.

Confirming. We should change the label to reflect whether we mean suspend or hibernate and not use "Sleep when inactive for:"

Looks like technically this is configurable in dconf but by default sleep means suspend

Hibernation is disabled in Ubuntu at all: http://www.ubuntuvibes.com/2012/04/hibernation-disabled-by-default-in.html

So, as far as policykit in Elementary is derived from Ubuntu version, no hibernate is possible.

But, if user wants to turn on hibernation, switchboard must have a choice to use it.

Judging from dconf values, Ubuntu(our base system) practices, we should rename "Sleep" to "Suspend".
