Error when I provided wrong credential to "deconfigure" db and then aborted

I was removing the drupal7 package. A prompt to deconfigure the database came up. I said yes, but provided incorrect password. I then chose the option to not retry the deconfiguring. drupal7 removal failed. I re-did "apt-get remove drupal7", but just left database configuration alone. Then I had successful removal, but got these Ubuntu dialogs about an "installation error" and reporting this as a bug.
