root@ubuntu:/home/ubuntu # cat /etc/network/interfaces
# This file describes the network interfaces available on your system
# and how to activate them. For more information, see interfaces(5).

# The loopback network interface
auto lo
iface lo inet loopback

# This is a list of hotpluggable network interfaces.
# They will be activated automatically by the hotplug subsystem.
mapping hotplug
        script grep
        map ath0

I had to do the following by hand to get the net connection running

root@ubuntu:/home/ubuntu # iwconfig ath0 mode Managed
root@ubuntu:/home/ubuntu # touch /etc/resolv.conf
root@ubuntu:/home/ubuntu # dhclient ath0

This bug still exists with the breezy live CD build Aug 8, 2005 for i386.

May be a duplicate of bug 12121 ?

I have the same problem during an ordinary (well, netboot) install...

My ath0 card is simply missing from /etc/network/interfaces and has to be
manually added after the install has finished.

Can this be confirmed on recent releases? I don't believe this is an issue anymore.

Changed in netcfg:
status: Unconfirmed → Needs Info

I just installed from the Live CD 7.04 and my eth0 wasn't configured. I ran dhclient manually and everything worked.
