Install fails if you try to mount an USB stick

Bug Description
When I installed Linux Mint 17.1 Rebecca I mounted a USB stick at the disalog screen where it asks for the wireless network key, because I had a text file on that USB stick with the key and wanted to copy & paste it instead of writing it down on paper and then type it in manually.
I got an error message from mount(?) saying that it couldn't be mounted. After that the install failed and I had to restart it.
