Bug Description

I am unable to add an additional folder under Places in Dolphin for easy access. I have tried two different methods, but I suspect the root cause may be the same.

Method A (folder does not appear under Places):

Open Dolphin, right-click on any folder, select "Add to Places".

Expected result: folder appears under Places.
Actual result: folder does not appear under Places. Additionally, the "Add to Places" entry is gone from the context menu for that folder.

Method B (folder does not persist under Places):

Open Dolphin, drag a folder to Places.

Expected result: the folder appears under Places and stays there when Dolphin is closed and then opened again.
Actual result: the folder appears under Places, but when Dolphin is closed and reopened, the folder is gone again.

I am running Kubuntu 15.04 with all updates applied. However, I can also reproduce this on the Beta 2 Live CD.

Workaround:

Try using the File Open/Save dialog of any other KDE application (Kate, Gwenview, Cantor, etc.) to add/remove entries to Places. They do appear in Dolphin (still Qt4 based) but trying to delete them is ineffective.

2 more notes:
1. This bug occurs with either Plasma 5.2.2 or 5.3.0 installed.
2. Either KF4/KF5-based applications' file dialogs can manipulate Places succesfully.

By the way, this may be a Kubuntu-specific bug, as there's nothing relevant on bugs.kde.org.
