Bug Description
As you can see [1] 'env' param is not processing by client's code but is still present in help string of the command and is mandatory to supply in order to start its execution. It could lead at least to user's confusion and at its most to unexpected results of some operations (please, see related bug [2]).

But it is not mandatory.
You are right - it should be removed, afaik there was limitation that you can not remove some variables in same namespace
