Thanks for your report, I cannot reproduce your problem of gnometris eating all your CPU. Can you tell us why you think that he doesn't respect the tetris rotation?

That can be changed in the preferences with the option "Rotate blocks counterclockwise".

I confirm this strange behaviour. After some pieces (at least 20) are placed, the game gets sluggish and xorg usage gets up to 100% when interacting with the game (ie rotating blocks or moving them).
Here's my specs:
- Gutsy beta
- AthlonXP 3000+
- Ati 9600 with fglrx

I can also confirm this behavior. Tetris shouldn't require these kind of system resources! The game starts fine. This usually happens after playing for about a minute when my gameboard gets more full and complex. If I just let the blocks fall, everything is ok. When I rotate or drop them using the down arrow key the system resources go into the high 90% and the game is extremely slugish.

Here are some specs on my computer:
-Overclocked AMD AthlonXP...approximately 2800 equivalent.
-Nvidia 6800
-Compiz Effects Enabled
-Gutsy Final

I have the same problem, the game becomes unplayable after a while. Then I
tried the following, under settings, preferences, theme - I chose "plain"
and the performance-issue was solved. I know this is a work-around at best.

I am experiencing the same problem. It's 100% cpu usage on 1 thread only.
