deluged start script does not work

Ok so this is the problem:

daniel@ss105 ~ % sudo /etc/init.d/deluged start
 * Starting Deluge BitTorrent Daemon deluged [ OK ]
daniel@ss105 ~ % sudo /etc/init.d/deluged status
 * deluged is not running
daniel@ss105 ~ %

I think the package maintainer should use the script in http://dev.deluge-torrent.org/wiki/UserGuide/Service/Upstart for the deluged package.

I do not understand why the start up script is broken.
