Bug Description
On my Toshiba A100 laptop with Gutsy installed, Thunderbird 2.0.0.6 (20070919) periodically hangs for about thirty seconds. For this time it uses 100% CPU and does not redraw, and uses a large amount of memory. When it eventually recovers, the memory is freed. Stranger, the same thing seems to happen in windows (the profile is shared between windows and linux), but this has only started happening recently, and no significant changes to my profile have been made - for instance in terms of number of stored local messages, etc. My only idea so far is that after one of the gutsy updates, something in the linux version of Thunderbird altered my profile and affected behaviour in both systems.
I'm not sure what other useful debugging information to include, but will take requests.
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering is this still an issue for you? Can you try with latest Ubuntu release? Thanks in advance.
