Bug Description

I use UbuntuStudio 14.04 Trusty Tahr, and following the instructions for Ubuntu backports (see https://musescore.org/en/download) I've added the PPA http://ppa.launchpad.net/mscore-ubuntu/mscore-stable/ubuntu in order to install MuseScore 2.0.
The problem: it was impossible to manage the plugins (see also the discussion on https://musescore.org/en/node/54831).
Following a suggestion, I've installed the qml-module-qtquick2 package, and now the problem is fixed.
I think that there is a missing dependency.
Thanks for you attention.
Antonio

The plugin framework also needs the Qt Quick Controls an Layouts files. Not sure if they are included in this package or not.
A good test to figure it out is to activate the ABC Import plugin which require these files. Go to Plugins > Plugin Manager > Tick ABC import plugin and check if it's in the plugin menu.

Is there any turnaround solution for this bug ?
I tried to download QT5.4.1 in case of the dependencies would be include, but no.

If you run

sudo apt-get install libqt5sql5-sqlite qml-module-qtquick2 qml-module-qtquick-controls qml-module-qtquick-layouts

all should be fine. There will be a fix for this in the 2.0.1 version that's currently being processed for Debian.
