Bug Description

upgrade from 14.04LTS to 14.10 through GUI proposal "Install new version".
Problem during install, sysv-rc didn't update then all dependencies fails to upgrade and all processes ask for root password to execute.
Problem still not avoided.

Do you still have the machine where this bug occurred, and can you reproduce the issue by running "/usr/lib/insserv/insserv"? If so, I'd love to have a copy of your init.d and rc.d directories so I have an environment to test fixes against.

sudo tar -czvf broken-scripts.tgz /etc/rc?.d/ /etc/init.d/

And then attach "broken-scripts.tgz" to the bug report.
