Bug Description

in 1.8b2 on a deployed node, if I power the node on there is no visual feedback.
I have to manually trigger a power check in order to know my node is actually on (or wait five minutes I suppose)

Is it possible to automatically trigger a power check after a power action so the UI accurately displays the state of the machine?

Thanks!

Please check just to make sure that our not to impatient. :-)

Performing a power action, should update the MAAS database with the result at the end of the action. If it does not then its a critical issue that needs to be fixed ASAP.

Hey, just tested again

Node is off > Action power on displays after about 25 seconds.
Node is on > Action power off immediately after that also displays after about 25 seconds.

So yes slightly impatient and this isn't critical :-)

If I manually check after 10 seconds it gives me the right power state
If I manually check after 5 seconds it flashes a power error after about ten seconds and then jumps to on (or off)

Would be nice if a user gets feedback after having triggered the power on or power off action. The power state could jump to "in progress" or "checking" when the action is succesfully started so I can see something is going on - then it can jump to the new state after about 25 seconds.

Does that sound good?
