Bug Description

A friend on a mac sent me a tiff image (of their desktop) in the Telegram app. Apparently with a common screen grab utility. It could not be rendered because Ubuntu Touch doesn't ship with support for the tiff image format.

That couldn't be super difficult to add to the image, and would be nice. It's not a super common format, but it isn't unheard of in everyday situations (like the above).

tiff is supported by gstreamer base packages afaik so this should work, does gallery need to advertize its support?

We definitely have all the packages installed that are needed for tiff. The thumbnailer converts to tiff in internally, using gdk pixbuf, and it deals with tiff images just fine.

I tried with a sample tiff file and it works fine. I can view the file in the photo scope and and in the gallery. I'm closing this bug. Don't hesitate to reopen and attach the file you cannot view if it is still an issue for you.
