Bug Description

I am testing ubuntu gnome 15.04 beta 2. I created startup usb disk (to install through pen drive). When I tried to boot through it, it gives error: missing parameter in configuration file keyword: gfxboot.c32: not a com32R

This message appears again and again on the screen. I found a way to boot into live session by typing help and hitting enter (I read this trick on some website)

I recreated startup disk thrice to ensure that error is not caused by software/due to missing of some files.

My system specs are: Core i3 2100 processor, 4GB ram, 1TB HDD

This looks like bug #1325801.

Please can you confirm:
1. The version of Ubuntu / Ubuntu Gnome distribution you used to create the usb disk.
2. If the above is fully up to date.
3. The ISO MD5 matches what you downloaded.
4. Have you tried again with a daily build ISO: http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/ubuntu-gnome/daily-live/current/

Thanks

First of all yes, it seems like the same bug that you have referred.

I created live disk in linux mint 13 with software usb-creator-gtk 0.2.38

Iso md5, actually I don't know what is this thing. I just downloaded the iso image and used it. I have been using linux for about 3 years and using same method for creating live usb successfully.

I haven't tried the daily build.

Linux Mint 13 is based on 12.04 and has not received the fix yet for usb-creator-gtk which is currently triaged. Perhaps commenting on bug #1325801 as well as filing a bug report with Linux Mint might help fast track a fix (although not guaranteed).

You can read more about ISO MD5 checking here: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/HowToMD5SUM.

At this point, it would not be useful to test a daily build as the problem lies with usb-creator-gtk. There are some other workarounds and alternative options to get the CD onto a USB stick and booting in bug #1325801. Alternatively, upgrading to 14.04 / Linux Mint 17, if this is an option for you, can also help.

Thank you for taking the time to report this problem.
