Equalization error at unity

I am experiencing a lot of Bass and Treble boost at default 12 O'Clock EQ rotary knob positions. I have played back several test tones to prove this. Also, it does not do it with other DJ software.

Which version of Mixxx are you using? What are your Equalizer settings in Mixxx preferences?

I am using 1.11.0 (build r3862) on Windows7 Home Premium Edition. In Preferences the EQ is set to default (low=246Hz, high=2.484kHz). I don't think that should matter though because the rotary EQ knobs are set to the default 12 O'clock position, which should be flat response. That should be no cur or boost regardless of EQ settings in Preferences. Other DJ software and Windows Media Player 12 work as expected. I'd like to get this fixed because I really like the software.

This is an known issue in Mixxx 1.11 and will be solved in Mixxx 1.12

You may try:
http://downloads.mixxx.org/builds/master/mixxx-master-git5216-x86.exe
if you don fear untested alpha builds.

This is the last optimized build. Later builds are not optimized. Bug #1439017

But backup your
%LOCALAPPDATA%\Mixxx
folder first.

Mixxx 1.12 offers two BesselLV EQ Types which are bit perfect at unity and a Linkwitz-Riley type which has a phase shift at unity and may sound better.

I am curious to hear if they fit you needs, please give a comment.
