Bug Description

this was fine for a while.. out of the box mint 16 was buggy with my video card on this brand new laptop.
its a lenovo E545 with a Radeon HD 8450G video card.
so i installed Linux_AMD_Catalyst_14.3_Beta_V1.0_B22_March12_2014.zip and it was fine.. up until now.
i rebooted my laptop and X never came up.. ive uninstalled the amd stuff and i can get X back but its tearing the screen and very unusable, like it was the day i got it.. if I reinstall AMD stuff, I get the spash screen back but when I go to log in it just sits at a blank screen with the loading icon spinning.

figured out how to get my display working.. not sure if you can find out what caused the problem.
i had to installed the standard fglrx from the package manager..
then ran driver-manager and selected fglrx
