This seems to be a duplicate of #143979. I've also reported it as upstream bug 464362 (<http:// bugzilla. gnome.org/ show_bug. cgi?id= 464362>), but I now think it's specific to Ubuntu Gutsy.
I guess it shouldn't be that hard to figure out what's happening for someone who knows what's happened with the libraries between Feisty and Gutsy.
