ZCatalog has a number of ConflictError-swallowing unqualified "except:"s

Bug Description

ZCatalog shouldn't be swallowing conflict errors with bare "except:"s. There are about 4 of those on the trunk as of now.

No bare except's are left - probably for some time now.
