Bug Description

Running into a bit of issues with some packages having unmet dependencies.
Looks like the root of the problem lies somewhere with the installation of linux-generic, linux-generic-headers, et al...

This was one of the apt-get errors I was trying to figure out;
"The following packages have unmet dependencies:
linux-image-extra-3.16.0-33-generic : Depends: linux-image-3.16.0-33-generic but it is not installed
linux-image-generic : Depends: linux-image-3.16.0-33-generic but it is not installed"

System:
- Dell Latitude D400
- Pentium M 2.0 Ghz
- 1 GB of Ram
- 40 GB HDD

Uname -r
- 3.16.0-23-generic

Tried the following commands already:
- sudo apt-get -f install linux-image-generic
- sudo apt-get autoremove linux-headers-generic
- sudo apt-get -f install linux-headers-3.16.0-33-generic
- sudo apt-get remove linux-image-extra-3.16.0-33-generic
- sudo dpkg --configure -a
- sudo apt-get upgrade
- sudo apt-get update
- sudo apt-get install -f
- sudo apt-get -f install dist-upgrade
- df i
- df h

Used alot of these commands because I saw people have positive results with them.
My assumption is that the kernel didn't install certain packages because it is not compatible with my CPU?
...and now the update is dependant of a certain package that is not there. I recently installed the OS and I never was able to prompt the installation to FORCEPAE and this is at the root of the problem.

Thanks guys.

I was able to resolve the issue by removing the packages, reinstalling them, and then doing the package updates one by one.
Instead of letting the package manager update all of the core packages at once.

Thank you for looking into it guys.
