Bug Description

Geary does not work in an authenticated proxy environment.
It does not support proxy of any kind.
It is not able to use GNOME environment proxy settings

Hi, thanks for reporting this bug.

There are two thing Geary could use a proxy for:

  - Sending IMAP and SMTP connections for sending and receiving via a proxy such as SOCKS
  - Sending HTTP requests for external image loading in HTML messages via a HTTP/SOCKS proxy

Which of these two is affecting you?

Also which version Geary and Ubuntu are you using?

This should work for the HTTP case, since Geary uses Libsoup for HTTP requests, which for at least Ubuntu Trusty uses the user's desktop proxy settings.
