Rectangle and Line/Curve and curropted rectangle appears

Pinta 1.7.0.118 on Ubuntu 14.04.

1. Rectangle and draw rectangle on canvas.
2. Line/Curve and move mouse to somewhere on rectangle.
3. Click to draw line, but instead of line to be drawn the rectangle get reshaped. The problem.

Additional problem with undo.
4. Click Undo and nothing happens. I at least expect to get straight rectangle back.
5. Click Undo button again and whole rectangle disappars from canvas.

Additional test:
a) I uninstall Pinta installed from pinta-daily PPA.
b) I removed pinta-daily PPA from Ubuntu Software Center and added pinta-stable PPA.
c) Installed pinta in Help | About it is 1.6.

Reproduced steps from bug report and the same problem. So it is not a 1.7 development regression. Probably an old bug.

I think the original intention was that shapes remain editable after switching to another shape tool, but pressing Ctrl while clicking would let you start a new shape from a point on an existing shape. That doesn't seem to quite work here.

I can reproduce the steps 1 to 3 in 1.7+r1113-202007280014~ubuntu18.04.1.
Maybe this works like designed. The work-around is to finalize objects with Enter key.

But steps 4 and 5 (undo problems) I can not reproduce anymore. Probably fixed.

I was still able to reproduce the undo problem in my testing, although I don't think this is a 1.7 blocker.
