Bug Description

Pinta development 1.6.0.104 on Ubuntu 14.04

1. Line/Curve and draw some line. Solid line is drawn as expected.
2. Draw another line like e.g. parallel to first line.
3. From Dash drop-down list select second opion. Second line gets dashed as expected.
4. Draw third line like parallel to both of them. Third line gets dashed as expected.
5. Move mouse cursor to first line (first line is solid line). Click somewhere on this solid line and change line to curve. Works as expected.
6. Draw fourth line and problem appears. Solid line gets drawn, but I haven't changed the Dash option from solid to dashed. It looks like reediting solid line gets some change into how new line is going to be drawn.

Retested and problem still appears in 1.7+r1113-202007280014~ubuntu18.04.1.

I'm a bit unsure now whether this is a bug or the correct behaviour ... when you start re-editing the original curve, I think it makes sense to have the toolbar settings (e.g. the dash option) revert back to the settings it had for the original line?

Yes, now I see your point. You are most probably correct. I did another test, as step 0 I have set primary colour to black, then for new step 3b I changed primary colour to red. Now at step 5 I see not only does dashing line changed to solid, but also color changes from red to black to get in "touch" with first line.

I think we can close this bug as Invalid. The confusion was, because it is very difficult to spot difference in Dash drop-down window. Maybe we should think about changing this drop down list to something like Paint.net has where it is clear what kind of selection is selected. But this is out of scope of this bug report and I am closing bug down.

Thanks for explaining.
